Ayan is a 2009 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by K. V. Anand and produced by M. Saravanan and M. S. Guhan.
The film stars Suriya, Prabhu, Tamannaah Bhatia, Akashdeep Saighal, Jagan, and Karunas, with a score and soundtrack composed by Harris Jayaraj.
Deva, a computer science post-graduate in Chennai, works for Arumuga Dass's smuggling group, smuggling pre-release unlicensed films on DVD and other small contrabands mainly through the air. Conflict arises when Deva's arch rival, Kamalesh, opposes and tries to eliminate Arumuga Dass from the smuggling business.
The film was launched in Chennai, with filming taking place in various locations including Namibia, Malaysia, Zanzibar, and South Africa. It released on 3 April 2009 worldwide and became a solo blockbuster of 2009 in Tamil cinema, collecting about ₹80 crore (equivalent to ₹201 crore or US$24 million in 2023) worldwide.
