Avatharam is a 1995 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Nassar, marking his directorial debut. The film stars Nassar and Revathi.
The story revolves around Kuppusamy, an innocent man who dreams of performing in Paandi's folk theatre troupe. Baasi, a member of the troupe, is expelled for bad behavior but later joins again after Paandi accepts him back.
The film explores themes of love, friendship, and perseverance as Kuppusamy's relationship with Ponnamma, Paandi's blind daughter, blossoms. The movie takes a tragic turn when Paandi dies during a stage performance, leading to the troupe splitting up after an argument.
