Synopsis
Aval Oru Thodarkadhai is a 1974 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by K. Balachander.
The film stars Sujatha in her first starring role, alongside Kamal Haasan, Vijayakumar, Jai Ganesh, M. G. Soman, and Sripriya.
The story revolves around Kavitha, a working woman from a large family who became the sole breadwinner after her father abandoned them to become a sadhu. She is burdened with caring for her blind younger brother, her alcoholic elder brother Murthy, his wife, their children, and her widowed sister Bharati.
Kavitha constantly postpones her marriage indefinitely due to her family responsibilities and the demands of her long-time boyfriend Tilak.
