Synopsis
Attakathi is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by C. V. Kumar under Thirukumaran Entertainment.
The film stars Dinesh, Nandita Swetha, and Aishwarya Rajesh, and follows the story of Dinakaran (Dinesh), a roadside Romeo who struggles to find true love during his school and college life.
Attakathi marked Ranjith's directorial debut and Kumar's maiden production, featuring several newcomers in key roles. The film was shot on location in North Chennai between September and December 2011 for 50 days.
The movie was released theatrically on August 15, 2012, coinciding with Independence Day, and received critical acclaim for its performances, direction, screenplay, music, and technical aspects.
