Ashok Kumar is a 1941 Indian Tamil-language historical drama film directed by Raja Chandrasekhar.
The film tells the story of Mauryan emperor Ashoka and his son Kunala, who is falsely accused of seduction by Ashoka's second wife Thishyarakshai after rejecting her advances. However, the narrative takes a positive turn when Gautama Buddha intervenes, restoring Kunala's sight and leading to his exoneration by Ashoka.
The film stars M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar in the lead role, with Chittoor V. Nagayya and P. Kannamba also featured prominently.
