Arangetra Velai is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language screwball comedy film directed by Fazil and produced by Aroma Mani.
The film stars Prabhu and Revathi in the lead roles, with Sivaraman played by an unnamed actor. The story revolves around three unemployed individuals, including a middle-aged theatre owner named Sivaraman who arrives in Chennai to dispute the denial of an important company job he was promised years prior.
His path crosses with Geetha, another unsuccessful candidate for the role who pretends to be influential and threatens him. The manager helps Geetha retain the position due to her family's difficult circumstances. Determined until he gets his chance back from Geetha, Sivaraman stays in Chennai.
The film is a remake of the 1989 Malayalam film Ramji Rao Speaking and was released on 23 February 1990.
