Anand is an Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film released in 1987.
Produced by Sivaji Productions and directed by C. V. Rajendran, the film stars Prabhu, Radha, and Jayashree.
The soundtrack features music composed by Ilaiyaraaja with lyrics penned by Gangai Amaran.
A notable aspect of the film's score is that playback singer Lata Mangeshkar recorded songs for it without taking remuneration, in respect of Prabhu's father, Sivaji Ganesan.
The film "I Want To Tell You Something" features an entirely English chorus, a rarity in Tamil cinema at the time. Other tracks include "Aararo Aararo," set to the Kalyani raga, and "Ola Kudisaiyile," composed in Shivaranjani.
The film is a remake of the 1987 Telugu film Majnu, released on November 20, 1987.
