Amma is a 1982 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by Rajasekhar and produced by AVM Productions.
The film stars Saritha and Pratap Pothen, with Master Vimal making his debut as a child artist.
The story revolves around Prathap Pothan's proposal to Saritha, which she accepts. However, her sister Arundathi is pursued by Dilip, who attempts to molest her. In self-defense, Arundathi kills Dilip and frames Saritha for the crime.
The film features a soundtrack composed by Shankar–Ganesh and lyrics by Vairamuthu, with the song "Mazhaiye Mazhaiye" gaining popularity.
Amma was released on June 24, 1982, and received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising the acting of the cast and others criticizing Ramasamy's humor. Despite this, the film failed at the box office.
