Ambikapathy is a 1957 Indian Tamil-language film directed by P. Neelakantan.
The movie stars Sivaji Ganesan and P. Bhanumathi, and features Kambar (played by Sivaji Ganesan), a poet in the court of King Kulothunga at Urayur.
Kambar is known for his deep scholarship, mastery of Sanskrit and Tamil, and poetic skills, earning the king's great respect and affection. However, this success creates jealousy in another poet, Ottakoothar.
The film also features a developing love story between Amaravathi, the beautiful princess, and Ambikapathy, Kambar's handsome and talented son.
Ambikapathy was released on 22 October 1957, with sequences in both black-and-white and Gevacolor.
