Agni Sakshi is a 1982 Indian Tamil-language psychological drama film directed by K. Balachander and starring Sivakumar and Saritha.
The film centers around Kannamma, an intelligent woman with classical music knowledge and a love for Tamil literature, particularly Bharathiyar's poems. Her obsessional psychosis manifests aggressively when she confronts issues involving women or children.
Kannamma becomes infatuated with Aravindan, the director of a dance school, after witnessing his performance in a show and being impressed by his ideology. She frequently shares her poems with him through letters until their relationship develops further.
The film explores Kannamma's struggles with schizophrenia as she tries to differentiate between reality and fiction. Saritha won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Kannamma.
