Agal Vilakku is a 1979 Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by R. Selvaraj.
The film stars Shoba and Vijayakanth and follows the journey of three different protagonists as they navigate a world filled with monetralism, patriarchy, and TN politics.
Navaneetham, an orphan, sells idlis at a local hospital to support herself and her family. She falls in love with Dhanushkodi, who is admitted to the hospital after being beaten up for standing up for workers' rights. Despite their disapproving families, they marry and eventually become mayor.
Agal Vilakku was released on 7 December 1979.
