Synopsis
A 2006 Indian Tamil-language drama film, "Adaikalam" (Shelter), is directed by Bhuvanaraja and produced by N. Sri Narayanathas for Kaladas Creations.
The film stars Prashanth, Uma, Thiagarajan, and Saranya, with a score composed by Sabesh–Murali.
The story revolves around Anbu, a doctor who is also the lovable brother of Thamizh, the son and daughter of Kasthuri. After learning about Thamizh's love, Anbu arranges for her marriage. However, during wedding preparations, Kasthuri dies out of shock, leading to a confrontation between Anbu and his uncle Somasundaram over the funeral and rituals.
The film follows Sathyamurthy, Anbu's father, who is repeatedly snubbed by his children but remains unperturbed, bearing the agony in silence. As the story unfolds, Sathyamurthy's character undergoes a transformation.
Adaikalam was released on 29 December 2006.
