Synopsis
Aadukalam is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language action drama film directed by Vetrimaran and produced by S. Kathiresan.
The film stars Dhanush in the lead role, alongside Taapsee, Kishore, V. I. S. Jayapalan, Naren Narayanan, and Murugadoss.
The story follows Pettaikaaran, a veteran rooster trainer who leads a respectable life with his key aides Durai and Karuppu. He challenges the police inspector Rathinam to a fowl contest, which witnesses Karuppu violating his mentor's word but emerging successfully.
The film was released on 14 January 2011 and received critical acclaim for its screenplay, direction, and performances. It won six awards at the 58th National Film Awards, including Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor, as well as five awards at the 59th Filmfare Awards South.
The film score and soundtrack were composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
