Synopsis
Thiruvarul is a 1975 Indian Tamil-language devotional film directed by R. Thiagarajan and produced by Dhandayuthapani Films.
The movie stars A. V. M. Rajan, Jaya, Nagesh, Major Sundarrajan, and Thengai Srinivasan in its principal cast. Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan provided the musical score while Kannadasan wrote the lyrics for the songs.
Thiruvarul revolves around best friends Kumara Devan and Ponnan, who are both devotees of Lord Murugan. Kumara's devotion is so strong that he forgets everything related to his deity, causing him to lose various jobs arranged by Ponnan. The two eventually work together breaking stones for temple construction.
The film was released on December 26, 1975, and features a cameo appearance by Kirupanandha Variyar as himself.
