Synopsis
Mannippu is a 1969 Indian Tamil-language romantic thriller film directed by M. Krishnan Nair and written by Thuraiyur K. Moorthi.
The film stars Jaishankar, A. V. M. Rajan, Vennira Aadai Nirmala, and Lakshmi, with Nagesh, R. S. Manohar, C. K. Saraswathi, and Major Sundarrajan in supporting roles.
It is a remake of the Malayalam film Padunna Puzha (1968). The story follows Advocate Kumar and his sister Bhama as they navigate their lives after losing their mother, with Radha giving Bhama daily music lessons. Radha falls in love with Gopi, an artist, but their relationship is complicated by a family feud.
Bhama becomes infatuated with Gopi and attempts to commit suicide when he rejects her love. Her stepmother consoles her and assures her fulfillment of her ambitions. However, the situation escalates when Radha dies under mysterious circumstances, and Kumar's actions lead to a tragic outcome.
The film was released on 28 November 1969 and was successful at the box office.
